Customized Pet Portraits
For those who just love their pets beyond imagination (I know I do), I offer reasonably priced, customized pet portraits in various mediums. Every hair, feather, or scale is placed with care and love no matter what species your pet happens to be. I strive to bring your pets to life, whether they are still with you today or if they've crossed over the rainbow bridge.
ALERT: Please be aware there may be a waitlist for pet portrait commissions. I do work quickly, but I have a growing interest in my portraits and sometimes this may mean your piece may take some time to get to. Thank you for your patience in advance. :)
PyrographyWoodburning is a fascinating art form of using a hot pen to physically burn into the wood. With the proper tools, I'm able to add shading and depth to the wood. This is not to be confused with laster etching, where a machine is programmed to complete the piece. All of my work is completed by hand. My current prices for portraits burned onto basswood are: 8x10: $225 9x12: $275 11x14: $350 These prices reflect a single portrait burned onto each piece of wood. If you have a request to add more portraits per piece, the charge is $125 per extra pet or human included in each portrait. Please message me for a quote on pieces larger or more intricate than described above. WatercolorWatercolor is a timeless art form that can be both fluid and loose, and at the opposite end controlled. With layering effects to deepen and add vibrancy, watercolors are one of my personal favorites. Please keep in mind the limitations of detail in the smaller pieces, though I do my best to place as much personality into each piece as possible. Pricing for watercolor pet portraits: 3x5: $60 5x7: $125 8x10: $225 9x12: $300 11x14: $450 These prices reflect only the piece itself, though if you're interested in matting and framing, prices and options can be discussed. ScratchboardThough a relatively new medium for me, it's quickly become one of my absolute favorites to work with. It's a different mindset, where instead of adding shadows, I'm now pulling out highlights from the black ink and leaving shadows to speak for themselves. The pieces end up with beautiful contrast of stark black and white. Pricing for scratchboard: 8x10: $300 9x12: $450 11x14: $650 12x16: $900 16x20: $1500 18x24: $2400 Like the other mediums, these prices reflect a single subject. For intricate pieces with backgrounds or human subjects, prices will be quoted on an individual basis. Framing options can also be discussed privately. GraphiteGraphite is my old pal. It's the medium I grew up on, and spent a good deal of my time in classes at school drawing with either a mechanical pencil or working with art pencils. I don't work with it terribly often these days compared to the other mediums, but it is still a favorite. Pricing for graphite on paper: 8x10: $250 9x12: $400 11x14: $550 12x16': $850 Larger pieces can be decided on a piece by piece basis. |
